Passport
Saturday, April 14, 2012       9:00 am - 12:00 pm

As we see the images of famine, injustice and suffering from around the world, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the complexity of global poverty. Even as we feel like there must be something we can do, we are often paralyzed by wonder over how we can actually make a difference or, if we can make a difference, how to begin.

What is Passport?

Passport is a three-hour event that can provide your first step in understanding the complex issues of global poverty and offering tangible ways that you can begin to make a difference. You will learn about what our church is doing globally and how you can get further involved in releasing people from poverty. Passport is an interactive, challenging and potentially life-changing experience that will help you to discover God's heart for the poor.  Come on your own, with your Life Group, or with friends and neighbours to begin a journey of bringing hope to the nations and, at the same time, having the nations restore your hope in Jesus.

What if I've Been Before?

Passport is offered twice each year and we are designing it in a way allows it to be a fresh experience even if you've been several times before. Reflecting the seemingly endless complexity of global poverty, we are always adding new experiences and topics to learn more about the issues people in the developing world face. Besides, it's a great opportunity to share what you've learned in previous Passport events with others so that you can process the experience after it's over and to provide an onramp for others to begin to experience this lifestyle of global action.

What about my kids?

If you're wondering what to do with the kids while you're at Passport, bring them along. Childcare will be provided for children up to JK and, for the first time, we will be offering a kids-only version of Passport for children SK-Grade 5. Finally, for students in grades 6-8, R!OT will be hosting a Passport event as well. So, while you're learning about the issues related to global poverty, your kids will also be learning how poverty affects children around the world. So, regardless of age - whether you're in preschool or in retirement - there's something at Passport for you. If you have a family, come together! Because we need to know approximately how many to expect, please let us know if you plan on bringing your children, and include their ages.

For more information, please contact Brent Esau at besau@southridge.cc
To register, simply fill out the form below. If you are bringing your children with you, please include their names below so that we have an idea of how many to expect. If you are not bringing children with you, just leave it blank.

For now, ages of children are sufficient. We want to have an idea of how many children to expect.
Thanks!
